Why Choose PoseidonDeck

Description

Solid Color EVA Foam Boat Flooring is a 6 mm closed-cell EVA foam sheet for cut-to-fit DIY deck upgrades. The uniform surface is suited to minimalist boat interiors, accent areas and projects where a clean single-color finish is preferred.

Important: This is a universal cut-to-fit sheet, not a model-specific pre-cut flooring kit. Measure the actual installation area before selecting a size.

Material, Backing and Use

  • Material: 6 mm closed-cell EVA foam for cushioned, cut-to-fit marine deck covering.
  • Backing: Choose Self-developed Adhesive or 3M Adhesive from the available variants.
  • Applications: Suitable prepared areas on fishing boats, jon boats, pontoons, cockpits and swim platforms. EVA is a surface covering, not structural decking.
  • Surface preparation: Install on a stable, smooth, clean and fully dry substrate. Remove old carpet and adhesive residue and repair damaged or unstable surfaces first.

Sheet Sizes and Coverage

Coverage is gross material area before cutting. Select an available size, color and adhesive above; the displayed price updates for that exact combination.

Solid Color EVA Foam Boat Flooring: sheet size and coverage
Sheet size One sheet Two sheets
94.5 × 15.7 in 10.30 sq ft 20.61 sq ft
94.5 × 23.6 in 15.49 sq ft 30.98 sq ft
94.5 × 35.4 in 23.23 sq ft 46.46 sq ft
94.5 × 46.2 in 30.32 sq ft 60.64 sq ft

94.5 × 46.2 in Two-Pack Option

Select 94.5''x46.2''(2 pack) to receive two matching sheets, each measuring 94.5 × 46.2 inches and 6 mm thick, in the selected color, pattern and adhesive option. The dimensions refer to each sheet, not one oversized sheet. One two-pack added to the cart contains two sheets.

The two sheets provide approximately 60.6 sq ft (5.63 m²) of total material before cutting. Allow for trimming, groove direction and offcuts when measuring your deck; usable coverage depends on your layout. These are universal DIY cut-to-fit sheets, not a pre-cut kit for a specific boat model.

Planning and Installation

  1. Measure each deck section and create paper or cardboard templates.
  2. Plan seams, pattern direction, hatches, drains and service access. Allow for offcuts; total deck area alone does not determine sheet quantity.
  3. Cut with a sharp utility knife and dry-fit every panel before peeling the liner.
  4. Peel the liner gradually, align without stretching and press firmly across the full panel, seams and edges.

Do not assume the adhesive will bond reliably to raised non-skid or diamond plate. Send photos to PoseidonDeck support if surface compatibility is uncertain. Follow our installation guide and sheet quantity and layout guide.

Care and Ordering Questions

Cleaning: Rinse with fresh water; use mild soap and a soft cloth or brush when needed. Avoid solvents, harsh chemicals and concentrated high-pressure washing at seams and edges.

Grip and temperature: Traction varies with water, dirt, footwear and contaminants. Color, sunlight, installation, use and care affect surface temperature and appearance.

Color checks: Screens and lighting can change color appearance. Choose the smallest available sheet to evaluate the real material before a larger order; separate free sample swatches are not currently offered.

Shipping and returns: Check destination-specific shipping methods and estimates at checkout. Review our Shipping Policy and Refund Policy before ordering. Non-quality returns, exchanges and refunds are generally not accepted. Report damage, wrong items or missing contents within 7 calendar days of carrier-confirmed delivery and before altering the product.

Solid Gray to the Rescue! Awesome Product!

This was my 1st time reflooring a boat and decided to go with PoseidonDeck Eva Decking Solide Grey for the sides on my compartments and my trolling motor foot pedal. This material is very easy to work with as far as cutting them to size, sticky sticky adhesive and all of my rolls came in the same exact color with no issues of different shades etc. I recommend that once you cut it to size, take your time to lay it on the decking cause it's very sticky and you have 1 chance to get it right. Overall, happy with my boat and it's looking fresh! Will definitely buy again!

EXCELLENT WATERPROOF flooring

This is PERFECT for waterproofing your floor surface. I've put this to the absolute test and can confirm that water DOES NOT penetrate through this material, even after many hours of leaving the water on the surface of the flooring. The adhesion after peeling off the protective paper on the back, is quite exceptional and sticks hard and fast. To maximize the adhesion and make application easy I suggest that you unroll and weigh down the flooring when you first get it out of the box. Let it flatten out and loose most of its curl from being rolled up. Clean and dry and your floor surface very well and if the surface is glossy or slick, use some sand paper to add a slight texture to your floor if it has none. Measure and cut your boat flooring with a slight overlap, place it where you want it and slowly peel off the protective paper and press the flooring into place, one small section at a time. You do have some ability to reposition it after it's been applied, but try and reduce this as much as possible. If you take your time and get it placed correctly the first time, the adhesion will be much better over the long term. The more you peel it up and reposition it, the less sticky the back will be. The flooring cuts fairly easily with a sharp carpet knife and straight edge ruler. I used a pair of electric scissors or rolling blade cutter. In some small areas I used additional instant crazy glue just a small bead. If you have to lay the flooring to a large area and have seperate sections or seems that join together. Try and find a good clear rubber or foam adhesive that you can apply between the seems to seal them together so that you don't compromise the waterproofing protection that the flooring gives you. I had a "toilet explosion" and this flooring withstood all the water and sewage material and prevented any of it from seeping through to the original flooring below. It was ONLY at the seems that water was able to penetrate down below the boat flooring. So I'm very impressed with this material and highly recommend it.

Good adhesive and firm density, but has some quality control blemishes

This EVA decking material is actually incredible useful for more than just boat and marine applications. I have used this material on everything from lining the bottom of a dog trailer (towed behind a bicycle), to a an electronics workbench mat, and flooring on my kayak. This particular roll that I ordered was intended for my workbench. This particular brand/roll of material has modestly good adhesion. I did notice that this roll has some cosmetic issues. There are long streaks the entire length of the foam material (see photos). This is caused by the large rollers during manufacturing being dirty and cutting into the foam. It is cosmetically unpleasant, but does not effect the performance. If you are planning on using this on a boat, be aware that if you apply it to HDPE surfaces (i.e. a kayak, canoe, or starboard hatches), you will not get optimum adhesion. This material works best on fiberglass/gel coat surfaces. The way this foam material is professionally cut is with a CNC laser cutter. For do-it-yourself applications, the BEST way to cut this material is with a really large, long pair of fabric scissors. If you use a razor blade or dull scissors you'll have frayed edges. Exposure to heat from the sun will help activate the adhesive and increase bonding strength.

Adds Grip Without Bulk

Didnt want a heavy pattern. The brush effect gives grip but keeps a slim, flush look.

What a difference maker

The material seems to work as advertised. The hardest part was the making of the templates.Someone might consider selling template material. I used shipping cardboard boxes. It was something I didnt have to buy.The directions also call for the use of 3M primer to use on rough surfaces and a laminate roller and some glue for the seams. That might be something else that can be put under items you may need.

Smooth Underfoot Feel

The brush finish provides soft traction. No slipping, even when wet. Very happy with the EVA foam quality.

Perfect for my boat!

Couple things, first the foam comes in a pretty tight roll. I unrolled it and laid it upside down so it would flatten out which helped but wasnt totally flat. Second thing is surface prep, sanded the bottom of the aluminum boat with a palm sander almost to the bare aluminum, then cleaned throughly, once down it stuck very well. Well see how it lasts, hoping for the best! But seems like its perfect for this application.

I love this product

I just bought a new aluminum hull boat and didnt want to pay a ton of money for sea deck. So I ordered this stuff and it ended up working really well. My advice for anyone trying to cut the rolls into specific shapes pieces is to tape pieces of poster board together to make a template then use the template to cut the foam. I did this and it worked perfectly the first time with no issues
